Olivia Farber is a senior at San Juan Hills high school and it is her second year being a part of the newspaper staff.  This year she is excited to be the senior opinion editor of The Express.  She has developed an interest in journalism and it is something she wants to do as a career.  Olivia loves taking part in school activities and can’t wait for another ecstatic year on the newspaper staff.

Kasey Kessler and Jenna Jordheim are very friendly and open counselors. Students are always able to visit Kessler or Jordheim during the schoool day to talk about their problems. help them academically, or just de-stress. Kessler and Jordheim work with all students to help them face hardships of high school life, impacting many students for the better.

Dancers Gabriella Mcadam (11), Cortney Chase (11), Niayla MIller (11), Laurel Lechuga (11), and Olivia Kato (10) participated in staged competition for the popular TV show, Dance Moms. Although the competition was rigged so the stars of the show won, the girls still had a blast performing for the show.

Smalley reaches out to them by saying, I hope that kids feel like I am approchable and that they cn come up and talk to me and share ideas with me. Mr. Snedeker, a current AP teacher at SJHHS says, “It is important for any athlete, any student, anybody of any profession to recognize their weaknesses. To get better you have to recognize your weaknesses and I think to have a curriculum that doesn’t talk about any weaknesses and just promotes the positive qualities of something, isn’t a true account of history is really like.”
