DIY: Halloween Costumes

Halloween is right around the corner and the scariest part is the expensive price on costumes you wear once for a full night. There are some easy, do it yourself costumes that you can put together to create a fun Halloween look.\

For girls, Wednesday Addams is great.

For the top you’ll need a black long sleeve shirt with a white collar. Your local thrift store may have black shirts, just cut off the collar from a men’s dress shirt and either sew or hot glue it onto the black tee. For the bottoms, you’ll need a black mini skirt and a pair of black tights. For girls with blonde or brown hair, add a black wig from any costume store which will only cost around ten dollars. Also, for an extra touch add some white face make up and lightly apply black mascara.

For guys, Waldo from Where’s Waldo? is a super easy costume.

If you don’t have a plain white shirt at home, pick one up at a thrift store or Michaels craft store. Add some stripes to your shirt with a ruler and some red paint. Make sure not to wash your shirt, the color may bleed in the washer. To top it off, get a red beanie and a pair of round glasses.

For couples, Mickey and Minnie Mouse works fantastic.

Guys, a black sweater and red pants work and it’s really easy to make your own mouse ears. Girls, a black sweater and a red mini skirt work incredible with a pair of black tights. An added touch would be a red clown nose painted black.

Whether you’re a DIY pro or a total newbie, there’s a costume idea out there for you.
