Sydney Hogancamp is a senior at San Juan Hills High School and this is her third year in The Express Newspaper. She is a bilingual student, being fluent in both Spanish and English, and she is the Spanish and Features Editor for The Express. She plays for the San Juan Hills girls varsity flag football team. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as playing club flag football. She hopes to pursue a career in the sports industry.

Established location in San Clemente, a student of the Togethership academy enters school where students can both focus on their academics and train for their sport. The new school serves junior high level athletes to help them take their sports career to the next level.

Implemented due to the recent heat wave, a thermometer is located on the Badlands field to measure the air temperature. This is to ensure student athletes are not at risk while practicing their sport. If the thermometer drops down to the black zone (temperatures above 92.1), practice cancellations are mandatory.

NFL Flag Championships at Pro Bowl Games

Outside of the swag bag given by NFL Flag, the Los Angeles Rams provided their own gear for the South Oc Wave team as they were their representatives in the tournament. All players received a LA rams shirt, an Oakley backpack, and a pair of Oakley sunglasses.

When checking in, all players and coaches were given an athlete swag bag. Players received an Oakley backpack, NFL Pro Bowl exclusive flags, a bluetooth speaker, a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, and a towel.

All games were held at University of Central Florida's Intramural Fields. Each game was 20 minutes, with two 10 minute halves. Athletes had the opportunity to compete against some of the best flag football players in their age division.

Head Coach, Corey Hill, getting interviewed by NFL Flag. "I'm excited for what our team has to bring and watch these girls ball out," said Hill.

South OC Wav 17u girls team smiled as they were honored on stage. The team has four players from San Juan Hills, one player from Trabuco Hills, and one player from Mission Viejo High School.

At check in, South Oc Wave received their Los Angeles Rams uniforms and were called on stage to be announced. Over 2,600 competitors were in attendance to battle for victories.

Team check in and registration is held at the University of Central Florida. Teams received their credentials and wristbands for the tournament along with athlete swag bags and NFL Pro Bowl tickets.

All athletes in attendance, have the opportunity to sign the "NFL Flag" poster, to make their mark on growing the game. The South OC Wave team, whose team is made up of Capo and Saddleback district girls, checked in for the tournament.

The NFL Flag Championships at Pro Bowl Games is held in conjunction with the NFL Pro Bowl Week in Orlando, Florida. The top flag football teams in the country, ages 7-17 competed in a National Championship tournament.

Sophomore Gwyneth Lyon was adopted in China at a year old. She has been living in San Clemente since then, with her mom, dad, and two brothers.
