Two weeks of campus life at San Juan Hills captured by The Express photo team.
Dr. Mahindrakar stands with twin athletes, Jack Monarek (12) and Lily Monarek (12), at Stallion Showcase. The two athletes attended Stallion Showcase to show off and present their sports teams to incoming freshmen. Jack Monarek represented the boys varsity basketball team and Lily Monarek represented the girls varsity golf team.

Maureen Pike, Photo and News Editor
Maureen Pike is a senior at San Juan Hills High School and this is her second year in The Express. Maureen is excited to contribute to The Express this year as Photo and News Editor. Maureen is a member of the San Juan Hills Girls Varsity Soccer Team and in her free time she likes to go to the beach with her friends. After highschool, Maureen hopes to attend a four-year university where she plans on studying environmental science.

Vanessa Ortiz is a sophomore who is excited to be joining The Express staff. Vanessa first became interested in journalism when she learned that her Grandfather had worked in the industry his whole life. She believes The Express is the perfect way to dip her toes into the process behind publishing an engaging story. Aside from her interest in journalism, Vanessa enjoys drawing, reading, writing and playing Dungeons and Dragons with both friends and strangers alike. After highschool she hopes to enroll in a four year university so she can major in the field of psychology.
Rowan Noonan
Rowan Noonan, Staff Writer
Rowan Noonan is a junior and it is her first year on The Express staff. She wants to grow as a writer and journalist this year. She has been on San Juan Hills Choir for three years and is the Chapter President of the Best Buddies club. Outside of school she takes dance classes in various styles and spends time with her family. She is looking forward to a great year with The Express!

Madison Wolikow is a junior at San Juan Hills and is excited for her first year on The Express! She enjoys going to the beach, listening to music, and working at Handel's. She plans on attending a four-year college after high school where she will major in business.

Claire Stafford is a junior at San Juan Hills High School and is excited for her second year on The Express. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, playing tennis, reading, and traveling. She is looking forward to deepening her knowledge of journalism as Co Editor-in-Chief of The Express this year! After high school, Claire plans to attend a four-year university and pursue a career in science.
Domenica Peloso
Domenica Peloso, Opinion Editor
Domenica Peloso is a junior at San Juan Hills High School, and a second-year opinion editor for The Express. For this up and coming year, Domenica hopes to grow as a leader and find her own sense of individuality through her writing. Outside of The Express, she is an officer in National Honors Society, treasurer of ASB, and proud leader of the SJHHS Movie Club. In her free time, Domenica enjoys thrifting the most abominable clothing items known to mankind, and watching a variety of media ranging from nonsensical garbage (Too Hot to Handle) to movies equitable to the original Mona Lisa (Call Me by Your Name, Kill Bill, Fantastic Mr. Fox).
Sydney Hogancamp
Sydney Hogancamp, Features Editor
Sydney Hogancamp is a Junior at San Juan Hills High School and this is her second year in The Express Newspaper. She is a bilingual student, being fluent in both Spanish and English, and she is the Spanish and Features Editor for The Express. She plays for the San Juan Hills girls varsity flag football team. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as playing club flag football. She hopes to pursue a career in the sports industry.
Jason Alvord
Jason Alvord, Staff Writer
Jason Alvord is a freshman this year and is new to the publication team. He wants to learn about video and photography class this year. He loves to write and strives for excellence throughout school. Outside of school he continues to try and learn new things and spends time with his dog. He hopes to figure out what he wants to do in life while in high school over the course of these next few years. He hopes to find that answer out while part of the newspaper team and hopes to provide the team with his past experiences with web design and writing skills.
Kaiah MacLeod
Kaiah MacLeod, Staff Writer
Kaiah MacLeod is a Freshman at San Juan Hills and it’s her first year on The Express staff. She is excited to join the team this year. Kaiah enjoys reading books, eating Taiwanese food, and watching movies that she reviewson Letterboxd. She plans on pursuing journalism, women’s studies, and literature at her future university! In the next four years Kaiah wants to join a women’s empowerment club, create her own website, and continue with straight A’s in school.
