The magnificent student magician, Jason Studdert (11) performed a magic show for students in publishing class. Studdert loves putting on a good show and loves making people happy with his talent.

Lights, camera, magic. Jason Studdert, has gained notoriety for his extraordinary and impressive magic tricks.

Junior Jason Studdert has been doing magic for 7-8 years and has since mastered his craft. “I was going through Youtube and I thought it was pretty cool, I started learning and it was super fun,” said Studdert.

Studdert taught himself by rewinding the videos to nail the tricks.

“Anytime I came across a cool trick on Youtube, I would put the video in slow motion to make sure I could really do it,” said Studdert.

Magic is a big hobby of mine that I love doing. I love to walk away leaving smiles on people’s faces.

— Studdert

The self-taught magician always has a deck of cards with him and is always prepared to put on a show. If there is ever a crowd of people standing in awe, it is likely that Studdert is at the center of the action.

“There’s always crowds of people at lunch, even at football games, Jason is always performing and getting people’s attention,” said junior Jenna Othman.

Studdert spends his time at lunch putting on shows for other students. The magician left Othman baffled by his mind-reading trick.

“He came up to my table at lunch and at first I didn’t think he could fool me. He left me in so much shock,” said Othman.

Studdert performs all types of tricks to his audience. He’s changed five dollar bills into twenty dollar bills. He can even guess your card, but his favorite trick of all is his “sandwich trick”. He freely waves two hands across one another and makes sandwiches of cards switch places.

“I do magic at school because I love seeing people’s reactions. I love the energy at school,” said Studdert.

The teenager hopes to pursue a career in filmmaking or directing when he is older. He intends to keep practicing his magic skills on the side.

“Magic is a big hobby of mine that I love doing. I love to walk away leaving smiles on people’s faces,” said Studdert.
