Keller Brown (12) responds to a comment made by the Young Democrats regarding free healthcare.

Over 400 students packed the theater on Friday, February 26th to witness SJHHS’s first political debate. Students from the Young Republicans club and the Young Democrats club tackled topics including free health care, subsidizing college tuition, and the Syrian refugee crisis. Dallas Varner (12), Amanda Rooker (11), Alyssa Mitchell (11), Keller Brown (12), and Kaylee Bashor (12) spoke that day representing the Young Republicans club. On the other side were Young Democrats club members, Chetana Piravi (12), Henry Lutz (12), Kurt To (12), Erica Delamare (12), and Kendra Shreeve (11).

Winning Clash of The Classes Kennedy Canizales (12) and Makenna Reiter (12) are full of enthusiasm as they point to the champion cup that the seniors have won for another year.

Class of 2024 Wins the Clash

Meticulously crafting a New York Times inspired senior class poster, Commissioner of Publicity Anjali Mehra (12) prepares for Clash of the Classes. Creating posters inspired by brands that correspond with class colors is a longtime tradition of SJHHS’ annual Clash of the Classes.

Juvenile Myositis survivor walks through balloon arch made by SJHHS student. Cure JM put together an event with help from National Honor Society students in order to bring awareness to juvenile myositis. Cure JM works to accelerate research on juvenile myositis, a rare childhood autoimmune disease that causes muscle, skin, and blood vessel inflammation.

Dr. Mahindrakar stands with twin athletes, Jack Monarek (12) and Lily Monarek (12), at Stallion Showcase. The two athletes attended Stallion Showcase to show off and present their sports teams to incoming freshmen. Jack Monarek represented the boys varsity basketball team and Lily Monarek represented the girls varsity golf team.
