The ceremony everyone waits for is nearly here for the seniors of San Juan Hills, and it will be a busy day for all. However, it can be explained how the event will be from start to finish for all students attending.
The day of graduation will be hosted on June 4th, and seniors will be excused from class due to finishing finals earlier in the week. Seniors must arrive for rehearsal at 9:00 AM and pick their seats for when at the ceremony.
Students on June 2nd will receive their cap and gown between 1:45 to 2:15 PM at the Badlands Stadium. All regalia earned during the Senior Awards ceremony is allowed to be worn during graduation.
There will be no direct drop offs for graduates on the day of graduation, with only the shuttle system being used for students and parents.
“All graduates will need to park at the Riding Park down of the hill on La Pata and take a shuttle back onto campus,” said Principal, Cina Abedzadeh.
Students during rehearsal may pick their seats when it begins so students can possibly sit together with friends when being put into rows.
“Definitely don’t waste time being unplanned definitely leads to losing time for photos,” said Class of 2025 Graduate Caden Mai.
The ceremony will last for about an hour and a half with it starting promptly at 5 PM, also beginning with the principal’s speech, student speeches, choir performances, and celebrating with the turning of tassels.
The attire for under the gowns is recommended to be a collared shirt, tie, dress pants, sun dress or blouse and dress pants. Jeans, shorts, hats, and flip flops are not permitted alongside water bottles, cell phones, cameras, flowers/leis, and purses. Caps may not be decorated at all for graduation.
Parents attending the event may bring items into a clear bag which will be subject to search. No outside food, umbrellas, balloons, coolers, or air horns may be brought to the event. The snack bar will be open during the event for viewers.
Parking for guests will be available as each graduate receives one yellow guest parking pass. If other guests arrive they may use the guest shuttle service from Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park which begins at 3:30 PM, with the last shuttle departing at 5 PM. Return shuttle service to Riding park runs after the ceremony until 8 PM.
Students must stay for the entire ceremony and may not leave early for photos or traffic. Once all students have exited the field, then guests may use the area for photos and reaching students.
Graduation marks one of the happiest days for all, with students going on their own decisions, and parents seeing their child continue on their pathway in life.
