Calling all San Juan Hills Seniors! It’s that time of year again. Time to get all of us heavily ridden with senioritis Stallions out of our funk and give us something to look forward to.
That’s right, it’s almost Senior Assassin time. A rite of passage most seniors have been looking forward to since freshman year.
In just a few short weeks it’ll be time to fill those water guns and start hunting. If you are still on the fence about playing, you definitely should. It’s a great tradition most take part in every year.
Senior Assassin makes our grade come together in a way that has never been done before. Students from every demographic, competing towards the same goal. A top trier cash prize. The game also allows us to reflect on our years of adolescence as we step forward into this next chapter of our lives.
“They think it’s super fun that seniors come together for their last semester of high school,” said Cali Alexander (12).
This exciting, competitive game has been going on at our school for the last 7 years. Once you sign up you’ll be able to see all the regulations, dos and don’ts, safe zones and safe times.
Some of the basic rules include all seniors purchasing a water gun under 15 dollars, getting the “kill” on video and playing by the rules of where and when targets can be shot. One thing players aren’t allowed to do is shoot their targets during their work shift. But once it hits one minute after their shift ends, then it’s fair game.
Safe zones and times include school grounds, an hour before school, during, and an hour after. Players also may not get their targets during their sport events. You have until February 1st to sign up and the game begins February 2nd. You must sign a waiver in order to participate.
Although the school is in no way affiliated with this game, a few players suspect staff secretly route for their favorite seniors to win.
“They for sure want their favorite students to win,” said Gavin Malone (12).
“I’m most looking forward to playing against my friends and hopefully coming out on top!” said Katelyn Johnson (12).
The game is just for fun and to not take it too seriously. It’s our last semester ever of high school so hopefully everyone will get into the spirit and participate,” said Cali Alexander (12), co-leader of the Senior Assassin account.
There will be cash awards to the first and second place winners as well as a cash prize for the senior who makes the most “kills.” I for one cannot wait.
Details of the prize amounts will be revealed once registration ends and the game begins.
