Make Earth Day More Eco Friendly

Learn small and simple ways to make a clean Earth, and some brands to switch to with a goal of a clean and safe world.

We are just on a floating rock. But this floating rock holds the most confirmed life in the universe.

Now, the Earth has been around for millions of years and is constantly evolving. With the topic of climate change, the Earth will survive because it already has, the Earth used to be purple but the climate changed. The focus of Earth Day and the fight against climate change promotes not only Earth’s health but ours. We are not damaging Earth, we are damaging ourselves.

We can, however, try our best to reverse the effects of the past and clean up our planet. These “fixes” don’t have to be huge changes, but they can be small things that can make all the difference.

At home, you can swap single use items for reusables such as water bottles, shopping bags, and food containers. Turn off lights, and unplug chargers when they are not in use. Wash your clothes in cold water, and air dry them when possible. And shorten showers even by 1-2 minutes.

For food and shopping, aim to buy only what you’ll actually eat to reduce food waste. Choosing products with minimal or recyclable packaging. And supporting local produce when possible (provides less transportation impact).

When on the go, combine errands into one trip to reduce driving. Walk, bike, or carpool when it’s convenient and keep tires properly inflated to improve fuel efficiency all are easy ways to help the environment in daily life.

Waste is a big contributor to Earth’s declining health but there are ways to ease that pain. Examples are recycling correctly, composting food scraps, and repairing or donating items instead of throwing them away.

For digital and energy awareness, lowering your thermostat by a degree in the winter and raising it a degree in the summer, and using energy-sufficient bulbs like LEDs (they last longer and use less power).

Recycling also contributes to the economy. It adds to the jobs, wages, and tax revenues. The ERA conducted a study about this topic.

The study found that in a single year, recycling and reuse activities in the United States accounted for: 681,000 jobs, $37.8 billion in wages, and $5.5 billion in tax revenues.”

With recycling and its benefits on the rise and also brought an uprising in clean brands. However it is hard to find clean brands that are actually clean, and not just clever marketing.

Keeping the Earth clean and healthy is important. There are many efforts that are currently going on to rehabilitate the Earth. But it is also important to use the earth’s natural resources to keep us healthy. The healthier option is always the more natural one.

Keep the earth clean by making small eco-conscious decisions, and keep your bodie healthy by avoiding harsh chemicals, and choosing more natural options.
