Batman Builds LEGO Legacy

The LEGO Batman Movie is very different from any previous Batman film. Most of the movies about Bruce Wayne and his fancy costume in the past have had a dark and serious tone, while the LEGO Batman Movie takes a more comedic approach.

In my eyes, the most noticeable feature this film has is that is was created entirely out of LEGOs. Hence the name, “The LEGO Batman Movie”.

This was quite a different look for the superhero genre. But with its four and a half star rating and 91% on rotten tomatoes, a different look is all it took.

Not only is the movie visually impressive with it’s magnificent stop-motion movement, but it’s also a comedy.

From a hateful bromance between LEGO Batman and LEGO Joker to sliding in some cheesy scenes from Jerry Maguire, it’s a brick-load of laughs.

The main characters in The LEGO Batman movie, include Lego Batman (believe it or not), Lego Robin, Lego Joker, Lego Alfred, and Lego Batgirl (the commissioner’s daughter).

Almost every villain and superhero from the batman universe makes a cameo in LEGO form, displaying a classic clash of justice and evil on a miniature scale, but that did not make the movie any less epic.

Going into the movie, I only expected a few chuckles that would result in a meager shrug when asked “how was it?” But I was pleasantly surprised with a barrage of jokes that would make the oldest man and the youngest girl laugh their lego legs off.

Because of this, I feel the targeted audience would be anyone who would not mind laughing at little plastic people and a blatant disregard to the laws of physics.
