Girls Tennis Rallies Through League

Sydney Wolfe

SJHHS Varsity tennis player Kaia Wolfe (11) wins Singles League Champion title for the second time since her freshman year. The team ranked third in the South Coast League and will advance to CIFs next week.

Yesterday, SJHHS Varsity tennis player Kaia Wolfe (11) won the title of Singles League Champion after an intense match against Aditi Patel (10) from Tesoro. This is Wolfe’s second time winning singles in League Individuals since her freshman year.

“I was kind of nervous in the finals but I was more excited to compete and get the title for the school and our team again. It feels great to win and represent our school in League Individuals, and I hope to continue to ride for the brand in CIFs,” said Wolfe.

Top doubles players Bailey Smolinski (11) and Morgan Arnott (10) made it to the semi-finals, but unfortunately had to withdraw due to unexpected circumstances. This would have been Smolinski’s third title and Arnott’s first.

After a tough season in the South Coast League, the team will advance and is set to play in the CIFs starting next week, hoping to bring home a win for SJHHS.
