Winning league last year and having a great season so far this year, the girls’ tennis team is showing just how far they have gotten.

They take this year by storm with several high point wins. The team, led by coach Lauren Gelgur, is working hard this season with all the girls trying their best to be the best.

“We are really working together and have had a lot of team bonding,” said Tess Smolders (12).

Almost after every match, the tennis team does bonding activities like team dinners. They also have a team bus where the players get to bond with each other on the way to matches.

Thanks to their teamwork, the team is dominating with 7 wins and one loss.

“We have a lot of strong players on the team this year,” said Sophie Bolotin (11).

Many Senior girls on the team have been apart of the program for all four years such as Tess Smolders, Ashley Dickman, Alyssa Picariello, Jamie Kern, Caylin Duenas, Maddie Gilbert and Lauren Wong.

“We are doing a lot better this year,” said Lauren Wong (12).

Last year, the team had an overall record of 6-9 and 6-1 in league play.

Gelgur took over for former head coach Mike Royals. Girls tennis success has been consistent because of the leadership of Lauren Gelgur.

In Wednesday’s match, they defeated Trabuco Hills and captured the league championship once again.

They still have one more challenge upcoming. The girls tennis team awaits a chance at the Finals.

The Lady Stallions have performed at an incredibly high level this year. Regardless of the results in the Finals, the future is still bright due to the leadership of coach Lauren Gelgur.
