Many gathered at the entrance of the Newport Beach Pier on September 30, 2018, the one year anniversary of the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival. A vigil was held to honor the victims, as beach goers stopped to pay their respects. Students who organized the event listed off the names of each of the 58 victims preceding a moment of silence. It was clear that this night was meant to be strictly for the victims, no politics involved. SJHHS teacher Kathy Boggio survived the attack.
