For some, October 11th meant a day dedicated to taking the Practice Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT). But for the senior class, October 11th had quite the contrary mood when compared to the rest of the school’s agenda.

I got on so many rides and got to eat some Panda Express.

— Ben Relf

Because most seniors that plan on attending college have already taken a college admission test, the exemption from the PSAT means a day at Knott’s Berry Farm to enjoy a well deserved break.

“It was the best,” said Ben Relf, a senior who attended the trip, “I got on so many rides and got to eat some Panda Express.”

To the dismay of Ben, Xcelerator was closed for the duration of the trip and he was unable to enjoy one of his favorite roller coasters.

When asked about the trip, Carter Berry said, “Knott’s was chill, the lines were short. I went on Ghostrider for the first time and that drop was insane!”

However, not every senior did partake in the Knott’s trip and felt that they could have made better use of their time. Will Knaak made it very clear that he was content with staying out of the fun. “I slept until  1pm and caught up on my homework” Knaak said, “I also saved $45.”

Like Knaak, many other seniors at SJHHS made the call to arrange other activities to do during the day. Roughly 175 seniors attended the Knott’s trip leaving a little less than 500 seniors who made other plans.

With college application deadlines and other senior responsibilities fast approaching, for the class of 2018, October 11th was a great day to relax and enjoy some well deserved free time.
