SJHHS also made the California Business for Education Excellence (CBEE) 2012 Honor Roll. The 2012 Honor Roll includes elementary, middle, and high schools that demonstrate consistent high levels of academic achievement. Specifically for high schools, Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness. The Honor Roll list was started in 2005 with 261 schools being recognized. In 2012 the Honor Roll now recognizes 2,108 schools as high achieving schools. Specifically for high schools, Honor Roll recognition includes measures of college readiness.
CBEE has a set of success factors they look for in Honor Roll schools. These are high expectations for all students; ongoing collaboration among teachers to improve practice; targeted use of data to pinpoint challenges and monitor progress; continual intervention for struggling students; and mastery of content knowledge and pedagogical practices.
