Julia Ransom, a senior cross country captain, will be featured in CNN10’s positive athlete segment, after being nominated by a peer. She was interviewed by CNN on October 11 at SJHHS for promoting both physical activity and adolescent mental health. Ransom started a non-profit organization called the James Henry Ransom Foundation with a mission “to raise awareness and money to support programs, organizations, research, facilities and families dealing with issues related to adolescent mental and behavioral health.” The JHRF will be hosting a 5k fundraiser on Saturday, November 3 at 8:00 in the morning at Oso Viejo Park.
