San Clemente has a variety of hot spots where high schoolers can hang out with friends.

The North end holds the Krikorian movie theater. It’s a great place to meet up on a Friday night with a group of friends to watch the newest and latest movie. There are many low priced restaurants for dinner afterwards, including Wahoo’s, Zona’s, and Starbucks. There is also another small shopping center across the street.

On the South end are the more casual spots. Many teenagers may be seen eating at Taco Bell after school, or on their way home from the beach. Another great place is OC Tavern where sport events are always playing.

Downtown San Clemente is where the more well-known spots are located. On the main street of Del Mar are rows of stores and hole-in-the-wall restaurants. The most popular restaurants are Lavender Lounge, Pizza Port, and Zebra House Coffee.

Lavender Lounge provides an indie atmosphere where people can meet up to study while receiving local tea brews.

Pizza Port provides more of an upbeat atmosphere where many sports teams and young adults go for their pizza and hot wings. Upstairs has arcade games where teens can buy stickers and candy with tokens.

Zebra House Coffee offers open mic once a month for talented locals to come showcase their talents and it is a great place to study or meet up with some friends.

Possibly the most popular aspect of San Clemente is the abundance of well known beaches.

Rivera, T-Street, Calafia, and Cottons offer breath taking sunsets. The pier houses little restaurants often visited on the weekends.

Some beaches such as Rivera and T-Street also have canyons that friends can go in to take pictures or explore. Many locals write on the rock walls and it is always interesting to see what has been added.

Next time you find yourself in San Clemente, take some time to check out these places and discover new ones.
