ROP Silk Screening Class Decides to Sell Custom iPhone Cases

Silk Screening is kicking off the school year with a fundraiser to make money for the ROP class. Custom iPhone cases will be available for sale to students at SJHHS. iPhone cases can cost between $20-$40 dollars at mall stands, apple stores, and many other places, but here, they are going to sell for about $15.

These custom cases are going to start selling after Thanksgiving break in E18, the silk screening room, during lunch. Greg Carlson, ROP’s silk screening teacher at SJHHS explained that, “we are going to start out for one week and see how it goes, but then we’re looking at a real probability of a regular thing.”

“In order to get the phone case, they need a digital thumb drive with their JPEG images on them. Their image needs to be 5 inches by 2 ½ inches at 150 DPI.”

There are other fundraising opportunities such as custom made T-shirts, where students can bring in their own pictures and provide shirts. However, the ROP class is mainly focusing on iPhone cases and saving the custom t-shirts idea for a future fundraiser.

“I’m really excited to release designs to everyone, we hope that they are able to sell” said Tyler Casazza, senior and students attending the ROP silk screening class.
