Sofia Bello, Arts & Entertainment
Sofia is a senior at San Juan Hills High School and is returning for her fourth and final year here on The Express. She has a strong passion for reading, baking, and could listen to music all day. She loves the color pink, watching sunsets, and spending time with her best friend. In the future she hopes to study criminal psychology and criminal justice as well as own a fashion line one day. Inside of school she is a part of NHS, CSF, Creative writing club, and Publishing club. She cannot wait for another year full of new friendships, fun, and spreading the voices of her community.

Caden Mai, Staff Writer
Caden Mai is a senior at San Juan Hills High School, and this is his first year in The Express. He is looking forward to taking photos at events and writing stories featuring current trends at school. Caden loves eating food and watching movies, and he aspires to try every fast-food restaurant in the U.S. Additionally, Caden hopes to obtain his MD in anesthesiology while also starring on Survivor, Big Brother, and The Amazing Race.

Kaiah Macleod, Staff Writer
Kaiah MacLeod is a Sophomore at San Juan Hills High School and is excited for her second year on The Express. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, playing scrabble with her dad and grandma, baking cheesecake, and watching movies that she reviews on Letterboxd. In the next three years, she wants to continue developing her two self-founded clubs, keep up good grades, and get more experience in cinema. At her future university, Kaiah plans on pursuing Film and English, as well as being a big time film director long-term.

Sydney Hogancamp, Sports Editor
Sydney Hogancamp is a senior at San Juan Hills High School and this is her third year in The Express Newspaper. She is a bilingual student, being fluent in both Spanish and English, and she is the Spanish and Sports Editor for The Express. She plays for the San Juan Hills girls varsity flag football team. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as playing club flag football. She hopes to pursue a career in the sports industry.

Sophia Roldan, Staff Writer
Sophia Roldan is a junior at San Juan Hills High School. This is her first year on the Express Newspaper staff, and she is excited to connect with her school community and grow as a writer. Sophia is a member of the SJHHS varsity tennis team, NHS, and a few clubs at San Juan Hills. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends, listening to music, as well as going to the beach. Sophia hopes to further pursue her academic career at a four-year university in San Diego.

Caoimhin Grothe-Brinton, Staff Writer
Caoimhin is returning to the Express for the second time. She joined the Express as a creative outlet and to be a part of a welcoming community. This year she plans to write pieces about upcoming events and to bring awareness to different communities and cultures. Caoimhin takes an interest in films and music, wanting to pursue a career as an entertainment lawyer or a filmmaker. After school, she participates at the Boys and Girls Club and goes home to watch TV and play music.

Cadence Henss, Staff Writer
Cadence Henss is a Sophomore at San Juan Hills High School, it’s her first year on The Express Newspaper. In her free time she enjoys reading historical fiction novels, making jewelry, volunteering, and watching movies at the theater. This year she wants to enhance her writing skills, get good grades, and become more involved in the school and community. Cadence is open to writing anything and everything, as she wants to expand her knowledge about writing this year, so she can better set herself up for a career in English and Journalism in the future.

Audrey Tillotson, Staff Writer
Audrey Tillotson is a senior at San Juan Hills High School and this is her first year in Newspaper. She is on the varsity girls’ soccer team and she wants to continue to play soccer in college. She joined The Express to grow her writing skills, public speaking abilities, collaboration skills, and critical thinking. This year, she wants to write about sports and interesting events going on in the world that students can relate to or find interesting or even inspiring. She enjoys playing soccer, going to the beach, spending time with family and friends, collecting sea glass, and learning new things. Her dream is to become a psychologist to help people overcome mental challenges. Audrey hopes to make a positive impact on The Express this year and continue to develop solid writing skills.
