Lexi Odekirk is a freshman at San Juan Hills High School. Outside of school she enjoys going to the beach, painting, hanging out with friends, and playing lacrosse. This year she hopes to publish many informative and interesting articles to help capture the stories and experiences of students at SJHHS.

The speaker Bobby Petrocelli at the assembly tells his experience with a drunk driver who crashed through his house, killing his wife.

Surrounded by dancers and colorful feathers, Billy Flynn, played by Jacob Koclainis (11), sings the song “All I Care About is Love” in the Stallion Theatre Company's teen-version production of Chicago. The Spring musical follows Roxie Heart, played by Peyton Kirkner (12), a murderer who tries to free herself after being convicted and sent to jail. Billy Flynn, Roxie's defense attorney, paints himself as considerate and thoughtful despite his underlying selfish and greedy motives. This number details Billy’s “only” motivation for being an attorney: his love of women. This proves to be a lie later in the show.

Fentanyl deaths have increased dramatically since 2013 when it accounted for 3% of drug deaths. Now it represents more than 50%.
