Beware the New SAT
Beware the new SAT and avoid being a guinea pig!
You’ve seen it all over Twitter, the first look at the new SAT is out and students worry about its changes.
This new test may be the hardest test we’ve seen yet. Now meant to focus more on Common Core standards, the test seeks to measure fluency and a student’s deeper understanding of content.
Before, the SAT was scored through 600-2400 with a 0.25 guessing penalty. Now, it is scored through 400-1600 with no guessing penalty, remarkably like the ACT.
The new test is meant to be very popular, but after last Wednesday, it seems unlikely.
“The PSAT was so difficult!” says Ashley Chittick (11). “The test last year was definitely more reasonable.”
Experts are recommending students hurry and take the old version of the test before the January (2016) deadline passes by and it’s too late.
Dr. Fred Zhang from blog.prepscholar.com highly reccomends students take the old SAT with all the study material perfected from years of others taking the test and to avoid being a “guinea pig.”
Test takers of the PSAT were made to sign a disclosure, agreeing not to speak about the new test, but it’s easy to say students are not happy.
