Currently if you were to go to the school library you may see one of two people Libby Maldonado or Erin Reasoner. Although they are working in the library they are not dedicated librarians, instead they are substitutes. This doesn’t mean you cannot check a book out from the library, get a Chrome Book replacement, print something out, all library services are easily available for all students as always.
Despite the library retaining its normal functionality a permanent librarian is still being searched for as legally the school needs to have someone who has the dedicated role of Library Media Technician. Because of this school administrators first look within the school district for someone who is qualified for being a Library Media Technician.
Some of the qualifications are two years of experience as a librarian, knowledge of standard office equipment, student behavior management strategies. If no one wants the position or is qualified within the school district a job listing for Library Media Technician will be made on Edjoin which is a site primarily focused on hiring personnel who are seeking an education based job in California in order to find someone for the role.
After a month of Edjoin having the job offering of Library Media Technician will be given back to district members for a month before going back on Edjoin. This process will be repeated over and over again every month until someone for the position is finally found.
