Student Owned Company Produces Fall Dance

On Friday Nov. 7, San Juan Hills ASB organized a Fall glow dance after the home football game against Tesoro.

ASB decided to have a Fall dance this year since Homecoming was unusually early. Normally, there is a Back-To-School dance, but this year it was removed. ASB thought of the fall dance to substitute for that.

The dance consisted of bright lights and decorations that caught students’ eyes all the way from the football stadium.

ASB wanted to have a simple but effective theme for the dance, and they wanted it to be appealing to a lot of people.

“Having glow [for the theme] is easy because it’s just bright colors to represent something fun,” said ASB student, Rachel Moore (11).

SJHHS student Griffin Dennen (12) and his DJ company Apexx Productions  were in charge of the music for the dance.

Apexx Productions is a student-run, DJ, lighting, audio, and video production company based out of Orange County, but they also do work in San Diego and in Los Angeles as well.

This was the first time our school has hired a student’s company to DJ a dance.

“It was satisfying to be able to get the opportunity to DJ your own dance because it’s my high school… it was nice to do something for the high school and to give back a little bit,” said Dennen.

The dance was exciting for the students as well.

“The decorations were really cool, the theme was unique and it was really fun to hangout with my friends after a football game,”  said SJHHS student, Shannon Callan (11).
