Websites Take Over Entertainment
With TV shows and movies more readily available on the internet, more people are ditching cable for a new way of watching television: websites.
Sites such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Project Free Tv, allow people to watch their favorite shows whenever they want.
Although Netflix doesn’t offer new episodes and seasons, it is a great way to watch past seasons, catching up to current episodes. It also features an extensive variety of movies from all sorts of genres.
TV shows like Gossip Girl, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, and Breaking Bad are all available on Netflix and are currently on TV, which brings people to want to catch up and watch past episodes.
Hulu Plus offers past and new episodes, but has fewer selections than Netflix.
Apps for these websites make it easier to watch TV wherever you want. They are also available on Wii, and certain DVD players and TVs.
Project Free Tv is a website dedicated to providing free TV. There, you’ll find links to other websites with full episodes for different TV shows and movies as well.
With cable, each channel has to be paid for, but has to be paid for in packs. So individual channels can’t be bought, unless you pay for other channels you may not necessarily care about. Switching to websites like Netflix and Hulu Plus is actually cheaper than standard cable, and you can watch shows whenever it is convenient, not when cable programs them.
