Maggie Barnes (11) strikes a pose to promote FIDM Fashion Club. She will be leading the club this year.

This year San Juan Hill’s FIDM Fashion Club has a new president, Maggie Barnes (11). She has been hard at work all year by putting together various plans for some major renovations.

Barnes said, “This year we will have a scenes in both the fall and the spring ROP Fashion shows. The whole club is looking forward to picking the theme and clothing for the show.”

The primary focus of the club this year will be to improve and develop the skills of its members in all aspects of the fashion industry.

The club will be holding its meetings every Monday in Mrs. Colt’s art room, E17. A few of meetings have already been held in order to start building up a base of devoted members, and so far some of the changes that have been made to the club can be felt.

Kaycie Luna (11) has been a member of the club since last year and she said, “Judging by the past few meetings I can already tell that Maggie has devoted lot of time into making sure the club is well organized and filled with innovative ideas.”

Although there has only been a small, close knit group of people that have attended these meetings, the club hopes to attract a great deal of new members during Club Rush on October 17th.

There are also plans being made to invite bloggers, magazine editors, and other people in the business of fashion to be guest speakers for the club and offer insight and advice about what their jobs require from them.

Barnes is anxious to see her club grow, and invites anyone who is interested and passionate about fashion to come check out what this years FIDM Fashion Club is all about.
