With an intuition for her life being beyond the United States, Kasandra Georgi loved the idea of studying abroad. Fulfilling that desire, she will spend this next school year traveling in Germany, looking into U.K. universities the following year.

Kasandra Georgi: UNITED KINGDOM

Kasandra Georgi has never ventured outside the United States. That isn’t to say that she doesn’t have ambitions to, but rather hasn’t had the time. After graduation, however, Georgi is going to make that time herself, taking a gap year to live in Germany before transferring to a U.K. university.

“Last year–my junior year–my dad was like, ‘hey why don’t you go with your grandma to Germany for a little bit.’ So that’s where my plan originated from,” said Georgi.

Within these upcoming months, Georgi is looking to spend time with family, work to save up money for school and travel.

It’s just gaining life experience that I think I will never regret.

“I am hoping to take trains every once in a while to go to places like Italy, and Paris and Spain just to travel a little bit and during my gap year I will apply for university. I’ve already been starting–I’ve been contacting them. They’re so nice to international people.”

Pursuing an acting major, the U.K. offers a variety of experience for Georgi, as many of the world’s most acclaimed actors originated from there. She also has ambitions to minor in business, however minors might not be offered at where she plans to study.

“I was thinking about University of Norwich, University of Gloucestershire and London School of Music and Drama.”

Between this gap year and the school that follows, Georgi is most excited about the traveling experience, making new friends and immersion of different cultures. Support of her abroad endeavors has been all-around, many of her peers interested in the international studies she’s seeking.

“It’s just gaining life experience that I think I will never regret.”
