Dance’s winter production, Fusion, will feature a combination of different styles of dances, ranging from hip hop to ballet.

The show opens on Friday and Saturday, November 20th and 21st.

The Fusion show is different from other shows because many other schools and programs are participating in this event. “The dancers come from different schools but all share the same passion; we love to dance!” said Emily Lichty (12), one of the intermediate team captains.

Advanced, intermediate, and beginning-intermediate dance will all be performing in this event. Many different types of talent and dance styles will be features in this show.

One program, “Little Stallions,” has young children learn a routine to a popular song and perform with the high schoolers on stage in the Fusion show.

“Each dance has its wonderful and eye-catching moments which I hope that the audience will enjoy” said Darci VanRyckeghen (12), one of the advanced dance captains.

The beginning-intermediate level will be performing a contemporary and jazz number in the Fusion dance show. Intermediate dance is doing lyrical, jazz, tap, and hip hop performances. The advanced dance is performing a ballet dance along with two more contemporary dances.

Both the intermediate and advanced dance teams will be performing the homecoming pep rally shows that the student body was able to watch in September.

The dance classes have been practicing for three times a week for about a month and a half, and have gotten to know each other very well.

“The best part of dance for me is being able to work with a lovely group of dancers and choreographers. As a class, we are very close and bonded,” said Cindy Li (11), one of the captains for the beginner-intermediate level.

Compared to last year’s Choreographer’s Ball, there are less performances. However, Fusion is still a large scale event. It will feature many guest performers and the different talents and styles of performances will keep the show interesting to watch.
