The Need for Feeding

The Thespian Society is hosting Feed the Need once again this year. Going on until November 6th all students are encouraged to bring in canned foods and non perishable items to their 3rd period. The class which collects the most food will receive a doughnut party.

The food donated is going to the South County Food Pantry and residents of southern Orange County are able to hands on help the community in which they live in. San Juan Hills teamed up with them for the sole purpose of helping people around them.

“Its (food pantry) set up like a grocery store” Ms. B said, this makes the families feel comfortable while coming into the food pantry. They get to have the experience of going to a grocery store and taking what they need. They aren’t just giving a box of what some may consider “necessities”.

This brings humanity back. Giving to people who are in need is such a small thing but can change someone’s life drastically in ways one can never imagine.

Thespian Society has grocery store days to collect food from people who are going into the store to purchase food. Last week they met at the San Juan Vons and the next meet up day is November 17th at the Laguna Niguel.

It’s a nationwide competition, which school can show the most support in helping out community in which they live in. All thespian societies in the country host this yearly.

Last year San Juan Hills teamed up with other high schools in the district. This year we’re independently try to raise over 5,000 lbs of canned foods.
